You can swim with humpback whales this summer in the island paradise of Tonga! We have spaces for just three more guests.BigAnimals’ Humpback Whales in Tonga Expedition is an experience like no other. We really mean it! These three differences make our free diving expedition better than any other one out there.
1. Swim with Nearly-Newborn Calves and Their Mothers
We specially choose the few weeks of the year where playful, curious calves are nearly newborn. The nurturing mothers are willing to let us interact with the calves for truly remarkable experiences you will remember forever. At this age, they are only five feet long, and the size difference between adult humpback and calf makes for dramatic, impressive photography.
2. Only 4 Guests Each Trip
This summer, enjoy more exclusive encounters with humpbacks. Fewer guests mean more opportunities for iconic photography and one-on-one experiences with the whales. You’ll receive personalized guidance from our expert trip leader in experiencing the most impactful whale encounters, along with underwater photography coaching.
3. Get an Authentic South-Pacific Island Experience at Blue Lagoon Resort
The main island of Tonga is crowded with tourists. Our Humpback Whale Expedition takes you to the Blue Lagoon Resort on private Foiata Island. Our host, Feleti, is a colorful storyteller and was the King of Tonga’s chef for many years. Each evening, after an outstanding meal, you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and dream of whales.
