Mission Statement
your unique adventure
My mission is to welcome you into your own world — as you may have never experienced it before!
This planet has been thoroughly explored and studied and described by many important people — and they have a lot of good things to say — but do you really want to just take their word for it?
Not if you have a taste for real adventure. If you do I’ll take you to swim alongside ‘larger than a double-bus’ sized blue whales on their Pacific migration. You’ll laugh at the chaos and charm of 100,000 king penguins preparing to breed — but mostly chattering about it. I’ll show you how other earthly beings make a living for themselves as 12 or more Norwegian orcas herd schools of herring with their bubble nets or 100 Mexican sailfish hunt sardine ‘bait balls’ like a pack of wolves 10 feet below — and all while snorkeling — you don’t need to be a diver to enjoy these amazing encounters.
Join like-minded lovers of nature and the animals that inhabit the spectacular and astonishing sites that we visit. You can experience the kind of thing you’ve seen all your life on National Geographic, Discovery, and BBC Wildlife — I’ve led their expeditions, too, by the way.
But don’t take my word for it. Come see for yourself.
what it’s like
Each journey’s departure is carefully timed to coincide with peak animal behavior displays that occur only during two to four week periods each year. All of my adventures are planned to the same standard as what you’ve seen in your favorite wildlife films, so you’re guaranteed a high level of photographic opportunities and logistical services.
I lead each trip myself. I only take a few guests depending on the trip — but usually four. This provides you with room to move freely, ample space in which to photograph or film, and my close personal attention and guidance. Most importantly for me, our small group size has far less impact on the wildlife being observed.
Over the last twenty-plus years, I’ve guided over 3,500 divers, snorkelers, and adventurers all over the globe. I have an unequalled record of success in finding and observing unique animals in the wild, and I’m especially proud of my immaculate safety record. I believe this is why more than 60% of my guests join me over and over again in discovering more about their world and themselves.
environmental concerns and action
All human activity has an impact on the environment — even more so when we interact with wildlife.
My long experience with such encounters has taught me that the critical ingredient to success is maintaining the small size of observing groups. Many travel industry pundits claim that a group size of two to six is too small to be practical. However, I believe that it’s not only vital to the success of the encounter, but to protecting the animals under observation as well. And that’s the bottom line on my expeditions.
everyone has an inner Jacques Cousteau
You don’t have to be an Ernest Shackleton, a professional explorer, or a long-time diver to participate. All you need to bring with you is a passion for nature — with or without a camera — a spirit of adventure, and a desire to step beyond the typical experiences offered by the usual travel agency or outfitter. Your trip of a lifetime is waiting for you.
