Sailfish, March '08
I must admit that for long time I was not as
excited making pictures as I am these days
playing with the Digital format...and I am
glad that I have waited that long to play
with the top Canon camera which bring result
as good as film...and also allowed us to
shoot 400 – and up to 800 frames per
dive...at a price $$$ of course...
... Sailfish is the fastest fish in the ocean and
they clocked at 65miles per hour. It is the only
fish species we know that practice cooperate feeding
just like other cetaceans. The event is seasonal and
window of opportunity is only for six weeks.
Sailfish feeding act is a complicated and involve,
first it has to knock one sardine unconscious with
their bill while the bait ball move from side to
side attempting to escape from the charging
Sailfish, only after the Sailfish hit a sardine than
it will swallow it...a lot of chasing and hitting
going are going on and not each hit reach the
desired results...to catch the sequence you have to
be here and in the water to see it in your own
eyes...one with camera in hand have to be determined
and highly focus...with very good camera gear at
hand to catch the extremely fast action as quick as
a flash.

As someone said – “no pain no gain”...one can take
the physical pain of swimming all day long chasing
Sardines and Sailfish...it is another story having
the strain on the CC account purchasing up to date
digital camera gear...to overcome the physical
challenge is relatively easy...the joy and
satisfaction with this kind of results... ...is
easing the financial pain...and I want to see
them published too...do you?
Thank you Sailfish, I am hooked, can’t you
tell:-)))
For you who is strong at heart and with their fins
too:-)))
I have four weeks charters next season from Mid
January through the first week in March...please
