Galapagos Islands make one of the Best Adventure Travel Destinations in the World

The Galapagos Island that most people refer to is actually a collection of Galapagos Isles. For those who love adventure travel and nature, few destinations are as meaningful as the Galapagos. We are fortunate that the waters surrounding these islands are still much the way they were in Darwin’s time. If Sir Charles had had scuba gear or a camera on board HMS Beagle, there’s no doubt The Origin of Species would have been a very different book. Happily, you can take the photos Darwin couldn’t, and our boat is far more comfortable than his.
I have scheduled our expedition during the prime time to meet and photograph the BigAnimals underwater (Whale sharks, Hammerhead schooling and possibly free diving with Baitball) and obtain a special permit to execute unique itinerary that feature eight to ten days at one of the world most exciting and dynamic location at Darwin and Wolf island as well as exploring the most western islands in the archipelago.
Explore the Galapagos with Two weeks of Whale Shark Diving on Wolf, Darwin, Isabella, and Fernandina Islands
On our wildlife photographic expedition to the Galapagos, we spend two weeks on board the luxurious Galapagos Sky, operated by Ecoventura, the most respected tour operator in the Galapagos Islands. It’s absolutely the best way to venture out to Darwin and Wolf Islands for 8-10 days of scuba diving and snorkeling, and then on to Isabella and Fernandina for more diving and hiking. These are the most remote of the Galapagos Archipelago, where close encounters with magnificent Big Animals are most likely.
Swim with Whale Sharks, Sperm Whales, Giant Mantas, Hammerhead Sharks, and Bottlenose Dolphins…to Name a Few
Why is this such a popular expedition? Probably because it’s simply spectacular. Visiting such iconic locations as Punta Vicente Roca, Tagus Cove and Sullivan Bay, I take a lucky few people each year on what becomes an adventure of a lifetime for each of them.
Four times a day, we launch our two 24-foot Zodiacs from the dive boat. After divers backroll into the dynamic water, the Zodiacs remain with us on the dive site at a safe distance and we track your bubbles while you’re underneath. You’ll dive with whale sharks, giant mantas, schooling hammerhead sharks, and enormous ocean sunfish. Sperm whales are possible, as are orcas. Millions of feeding sea birds guide us to where the action is down below, as thousands of yellowtail tuna, silky and Galapagos sharks help themselves to the sardine bait ball feast. One year, we met a pod of 500 Melon Head Whales. Another year, over 300 Bottlenose Dolphins swam with us for half a day. We’ll watch marine iguanas feed underwater. We’ll explore a hidden cove with an unusual tropical reef ecosystem. And this is just a sample of what you can see on this trip. It’s also why the same guests sign up for Galapagos year after year, and why every year, this expedition sells out.
We invite you to take a look at last year’s images, and we kindly (and strongly!) suggest you make your reservation now.
